SIXTH AND SEVENTH WEEKS

Last week we had a couple days off, so we didn’t update our blog, we will update both weeks today. 


In Database Management we are still creating users in SQLServer but instead of doing it through a Windows user, we used SQL users. The way to grant permissions is the same, the only thing that changes is the way to create the users. We also had an exam last week in which we had to create a database as we explained in an older post.


In Operative System Management we also had an exam yesterday, last week we just revised for it and now we are with some new things. We are learning about processes in Linux, we must do it by ourselves and we’ll have an exam this Friday. We use just a few commands like “ps”, “nice”, “kill” and some more.

In Internet and Network Services we finished our web server (apache) configuration and ftp. We started with a proxy server, but we are still working on the configuration. Proxy is quite simple but you have to think really well the order in which the permissions are listed because it reads the document from top to bottom and in case it finds some ”allow access” it won’t check for the “deny access” for that/those computers.


In Security and High Availability, we are done for this trimester, so we are using those hours to work in other subjects.

In Web Application Deployment we learned how to connect to a database in MariaDB and now we are learning the basic pages of a web site, login, searchers, etc. we also have to write queries to our database and we have to design our own website for our fictional company.

With javi we are learning how we can create users in the SQL (the SQL users and the Users of Windows) and how to configurate both to enter and modify the tables we have done and like this and in Linux we have an examen yesterday and we don´t look sow much only few more comands.

With Ricardo we start doing an proxy server and configurating and giving some permissions to access and deny the entry.

And with Xabi we connect our database with MariaDB and now learn some basic pages.

In Ricardo´s hours we were configurating a proxy server to limit the access to certain internet pages, allowing and denying the access.

With Xabi we have learned how to connect our database to MariaDB and now we are learning how to create the basic pages of a web like the login page or a registration formulary.

Finally with Javi we are creating users on SQL Server, not Windows users like we used to.
