THIRD WEEK

This week will be shorter because we have 2 days off.

In Database Management we have learned how to create partitioned tables and indexes in sql server. This is used to store each SQL line in a different file based in a single field, for example, if the field “Number” is smaller than 3, it stores it in file1.ndf, if it’s higher or equal to 5 It stores in others.ndf. after that we learned how to estimate database size needed with the number of lines and the Bytes each data type takes.

In Operative System Management we have continued with more Linux commands. Since the teacher is the same for this subject and Database Management, we’ve had more Database hours this week and we’ve only revised some commands here.

In Internet and Network Services we started with DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) last Thursday. We installed isc-dhcp-server in Debian 9 and since I already installed it last year, I’ve finished its configuration pretty fast. All the connectivity tests have been successful so far.

In Security and High Availability, we are designing a password policy for our fictional company and we are installing some applications to generate and store passwords. We’ve also installed applications to encrypt and decrypt data in both Windows and Debian, Debian’s are harder because it doesn’t have a graphical interface and you must use long commands.

In Web Application Deployment we have continued with PHP language, the only new thing we’ve learned in this week is an array, $_POST. This array is used to get information from a specific field in a formulary. This is used for logins for example, you get the “User” and “Password” fields and compare them to the ones in a database.

This week was shorter than usual so we worked less.

With Javi in Database Management we continue working with SQL server, and we learned how to create partitioned tables and indexes.

Also with Javier, on Ubuntu, we are still learning more commands on the console, because we are going to have an exam son.

With Xabier nothing new, we also are learning more about PHP.

On Ricardo´s clases we started with DHCP, installing it on Debian and configuring it properly via the configuration files on the Debian console.

Also in Security and High Availability we are learning more things about cyber-security like encrypting and decrypting files, how to choose a good password…etc

Finally with Ane, we finished something called Organigram, which is something that describes the structure of our bussines.

With Xabi on PHP we´ve done more exercises about more variables and know doing exercises to prepare the exam we´ve next week.

With Javi in Linux we´re learning more comands and with Javi also we´ve the subject of Database Management and there we expend more time comparing with the other subject that is Linux.

With Ane we continue doing the organigram of our bussines and finish it.

And finally with Ricardo also we´ve 2 subjects.

In nternet and Network Services we´ve installed the DHCP services and configurate it on a Debian Virtaul Machine and in the other we have that is Zentyal we configurate the DNS.

On the other subject we installed some programs to encrypt files and thinks like that useing same comands we find in Internet to then decrypt it.
