FIRST WEEK

IKER LOPEZ

We have 3 teachers; Xabier, Javier and Ricardo.

With Xabier we are starting with a programmation language called PHP. We have created a "server" where we can upload our files writen in this language (PHP).

With Javier we have installed an Operative System called Windows Server 2016 and after that we have added the SQL 2014, which is a  relational database management system.
Also we are learning thing about another Operative System called Ubuntu, based on Linux, and we are learning about commands in the console.

Finally with Ricardo, we are working with a virtual machine where is installed a Operative System called Zentyal, which it´s a server and we are configurating it.



ENDIKA SANCHEZ

We have 3 teachers for 4 technical subjects:

• Xabi: Web Application Deployment

• Ricardo: Security and High Availability and Internet and Network Services

• Javi: Operative System Management and Database Management

In Database Management we have installed Windows server 2016 and then SQLSERVER 2014 on it. Windows server 2016 is pretty much the same as Windows server 2012 so we just had to follow the same steps we followed last year to install it. SQLSERVER 2014 is the version we used last year so we already knew how to install and configure it. After the installations we are working with SQL queries and a function called “CONTAINS” which is new for us and what it does is searching for words related to a word we specify while writing the function.

In Operative System Management we’ve installed Ubuntu 16.04 and we are learning some new commands, some are similar to windows’ ones but most of them are different and can do more changes in the system, they are a bit more difficult.

In Internet and Network Services we installed a Zentyal server and now we are configuring it to provide DNS service which translates domain names to IP addresses and vice versa. This is the first part of the challenge so we aren’t getting much help from the teacher.

In Security and High Availability, we are learning about encryption and codification methods to keep our information as secure as possible. We are also reading about active and passive security measures; active security is the one that prevents damage from happening while passive tries to minimize the damage once done.

In Web Application Deployment we are learning PHP which is a programming language for web applications. We haven’t done much yet, just some simple math to get used to the language, we are using eclipse as the workspace to write our code.

We have 4 teachers. They are, Ane, Ricardo, Javi and Xabi.

With ricardo we have instaled the Operating System Zential and the components of it to then install DNS services to translate domain names to IP addreses.

With Xabi we are starting with PHP that its a language to program webs and like that. We are doing exercises because we are starting with it,

And with Javi we have instaled the Windows Server 2016 and inside of the Windows Server 2016 SQLSERVER. Last year we use the Windows Server 2012 and this year the 2016.

Also with Javi we are studing Linux and the comands to create, copy, move, change names and more match.
